We started in the South America section with the Anteaters, Sadie called them "doggies".
Actually, if Sadie made any noise during the trip, it was usually to call some animal a "doggy!"
Here's her looking down, farther in the distance you can see a tortoise.
Next stop, Panthers!
"Daddy, why are the kitties so big? And why are they not moving? Are they dead? Or are they just big stuffed animals?"
Sadie enjoyed the birds the best, after we left the aviary her attention would immediately be drawn to every sparrow nearby. When we got to the monkey cages, the monkeys were swinging all over the place and being very active, but we couldn't pull Sadie's attention away from the sparrows nearby to even notice the very active monkeys. This is a picture in the aviary.
Partway through we took a break at the little "crawl" center so Sadie could get out of the stroller and stretch her legs. She enjoyed crawling in things. (Apparently, so did daddy... you can see him right behind her if you look closely)
After the break we went into the 2nd aviary in the zoo, baby was once again, thrilled.
Last stop was at the elephants, other than the birds, it was the animal Sadie took the most notice in. As we were approaching them, she started making "woof" sounds and calling them "doggy" more emphatically than she had with any other animal.
It was a great day! We'll have to go again before we leave.
Once again, don't forget to swing by and take a look at the videos!
